DRY mutants CCR5R126N and CXCR4R134N are down-regulated by Nef with an efficiency comparable with the wild-type CKRs. CHO cells were transiently cotransfected with expression plasmids encoding CXCR4R134N, CXCR4 wild type, CCR5R126N, or CCR5 wild type together with bicistronic expression plasmids for GFP or Nef/GFP. Cell surface levels of mutant and wild-type CKRs were analyzed in principle as described in the legend to Figure 7.
