Data are mean ± se (n = 7). For all MIFE data, the sign convention is “influx positive.” Ionic concentration of the bath was as follows (in mm): 0.2 K+, 2 MES/4 Tris, pH 5.8 (adjusted with HCl), plus a required concentration of Ca2+.
