Following reexamination of slides after scraping, only two slides (containing 18 oocysts each) retained oocysts (one each). Coverslips from four slides (containing 18, 11, 11, and 12 DAPI-positive oocysts) were examined microscopically after their removal and found to contain no oocysts.
Slides containing the same number of oocysts are presented in the same row and are separated by semicolons. Each PCR result separated by a semicolon represents the analysis of the slide shown in the first column.
