Following reexamination of slides after scraping, only two slides (containing 18 oocysts each) retained oocysts (one each). Coverslips from four slides (containing 18, 11, 11, and 12 DAPI-positive oocysts) were examined microscopically after their removal and found to contain no oocysts.
