Conidial germination of the CSC1-2-1 strain. Kinetics of germ tube outgrowth in the wild type and the CSC1-2-1 strain are shown. Conidia of these strains were inoculated onto a coverslip with 100 μl CD−N medium, with or without thiamine, and incubated at 30°C. The conidia were observed under a microscope for germ tube emergence at the indicated time points. All values are the means and standard deviations of three independent experiments.
