UV inactivation does not inhibit virion entry, but does inhibit viral protein expression. Coverslips from Exp. 10 were harvested at either 4.5 hpi (for pp65 staining) or 24 hpi (for immediate early protein staining). Primary Abs to pp65 and to the immediate early proteins (CH 16.0) were both detected with goat anti-mouse IgG coupled with fluorescein.
