Approximately 75 μg of embryo or tobacco plastid proteins or 0.167 mg of tobacco chloroplast chlorophylls were pre-incubated with 10 mm of ethoxyzolamide or acetazolamide for 30 min prior to the addition of [¹⁴C]acetate. Values represent the mean and sd of three independent experiments. Rates of lipid synthesis in embryo or tobacco cell plastids are represented as nmol acetate h⁻¹ mg⁻¹ protein and for tobacco chloroplasts as nmol acetate h⁻¹ mg⁻¹ chlorophyll.
