Effect of the ETR1(1–349) and etr1-1(1–349) mutant receptors upon the triple response. The ETR1(1–349) and etr1-1(1–349) transgenes were transformed into either wild-type Arabidopsis (A) or into the loss-of-function etr1-7 line (B). Representative seedlings from three independent lines for each transgene are shown after 4 d growth in 35 μL L−1 ethylene. The level of immunodetectable full-length receptor (FL) for each of the plant lines was determined by western-blot analysis using the anti-ETR1(401–738) antibody with 10 μg protein. The level of immunodetectable protein for the truncated receptors (1–349) was determined using the anti-ETR1(165–400) antibody.
