Far-UV (A) and near-UV (B) CD spectra of lysozyme in water at pH 3.8 (a) and in glycerol (b). The lyophilized protein was dissolved in water at pH 3.8 at 15 and 25 mg/ml for far- and near-UV measurements, respectively, and then diluted 1:100 with either water (pH 3.8) or glycerol. Spectra of water (pH 3.8) and glycerol containing 1% water (pH 3.8) were measured at 25°C under the same conditions and subtracted for baseline corrections.
