S. aureus release LTA after treatment with antibiotics. S. aureus were exposed to antibiotics for four hours. The bacterial supernatants were collected and sterile filtered. The LTA content of the supernatants was measured with an LTA-specific ELISA. Data are expressed as mean ± SD of three experiments. Significant differences between treated and non-treated cultures are indicated (transformation log10(x + 0.5), ANOVA, Dunnetts post test).
