Landscraping — A bulldozer scrapes a layer of contaminated soil from a yard in the Barber Orchard subdivision in North Carolina, once the site of a large apple orchard. Due to contamination with former agricultural chemicals, the subdivision was designated a Superfund site in 2001. EPA-supervised cleanup, mainly by removing soil, is on hold pending further funding.
