R. capsulatus MT1131 is referred to as the wild type because it is the wild type with respect to its Cyt c profile and growth properties. All R. capsulatus strains, except Y262, are derivatives of MT1131, which was originally isolated as a green derivative of R. capsulatus SB1003 (47).

b

Psslow, slow growth under photosynthetic conditions.
