At 28 days of age, mice fed a regular Chow diet were weighed and killed, and their livers and hearts were removed and weighed. Body and tissue weights are expressed as the mean ± SD of 10 mice per group. A second group of mice at 28 days of age was fasted overnight and killed, the triglycerides (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) levels were measured in their livers, hearts, and plasma, and free fatty acids (FFA) levels were determined in plasma. Values are expressed as the mean ± SD of at least 5 mice per group. ND, not determined.
