IFN-γ does not enhance IL-1-induced IL-8 production from human intestinal epithelial cells. Cells were incubated with IFN-γ (10 ng/ml) or medium for 12 h, washed, and stimulated with IL-1β with (closed triangles) or without (closed circles) IFN-γ. IL-8 activity in supernatants was measured by ELISA as detailed in Materials and Methods.
