54Mn2+ (A and B) and 59Fe2+ (C and D) uptakes were compared in the 2/−IRE cell line (A and C) or the 1A/+IRE (B and D) cell line in each case with doxycycline (▲) or without (●). Lines (−) were fitted by regression for the entire time course in the latter situation, but for the first 10 min in the former with the actual extension (··) also shown. Time dependence was examined in six experiments for Mn and five for Fe.
