(A) ATPase assays were performed in the presence of increasing concentrations of decavanadate (●) or metavanadate (○). (B) RNA triphosphatase assays were performed in the presence of decavanadate (●) or metavanadate (○). RNA triphosphatase reactions were performed in a buffer containing 50 mM Tris/HCl (pH 7.0), 5 mM DTT, 1 mM MgCl2, 1 pmol of 5′[γ-32P]RNA and 40 nM of the chlorella virus RNA triphosphatase. The reactions were incubated at 37 °C for 30 min and aliquots of the RNA triphosphatase reactions were analysed by TLC.
