The solid line represents a fit of the DEP spectrum to Eq. 2 with a membrane capacitance of 3.0 μF/cm2 (CM indicated the real part of the Clausius-Mossotti factor). For the fit, it was assumed that ɛc = 60, σc = 366 mS/m, ɛs = 81, and σs = 10 mS/m, consistent with previous models for thin-shelled mammalian cells (2,4,5). DEP spectra were normalized before averaging to correct for systematic drift between measurements.
