TUDCA activates Akt in ICH. Total protein extracts were subjected to SDS/PAGE, and the blots were probed with antibodies to phosphorylated Akt and Bad. Both p-Akt-1 and p-Bad protein levels were decreased in the vehicle controls. TUDCA (10–200 mg/kg of bw) was given in increasing doses 1 h before ICH. Representative immunoblots and quantitation of respective protein levels show increasing Akt and Bad phosphorylation with dose. Data are presented as mean ± SEM (n = 3–5 animals per group). *, P < 0.05; §, P < 0.01 from vehicle.
