Reversal of DNM resistance by inhibitors in an MDR L. tropica line. Cell growth of either wild-type or resistant parasites was determined after incubation at 28°C for 72 h. Wild-type parasites (black bars) were incubated in the presence of different concentrations of inhibitors. Resistant parasites (gray bars) were incubated with the same concentrations of inhibitors in the presence of 150 μM DNM. The results are expressed as the percent growth inhibition observed in each cell line compared to the absence of a modulator (control cells).
