Inhibition of LPS-induced iNOS protein and iNOS mRNA expression. Alveolar macrophages were stimulated with LPS (10 μg ml⁻¹) in the presence or absence of β-lapachone (β-LP, 1–4.5 μM). Cells were harvested at 24 h for Western blot analysis (a) and at 6 h for iNOS mRNA analysis (b). The internal controls of iNOS protein and mRNA were α-tubulin and β-actin respectively. Data are typical of three separate experiments.
