(A) Somatostatin-14-induced tritium release from [³H]-arachidonic acid pre-loaded cells. Cell monolayers were labelled with 1 μCi ml⁻¹ [³H]-arachidonic acid in normal culture media for 18 h and then incubated in HBS supplemented with 0.2% (w v⁻¹) BSA for 1 h in the presence of the indicated concentrations of somatostatin-14. Data represent means±s.e.means of 3–6 experiments performed in triplicate. (B) PGE₂ release from CHOsst₅ cells. Whole cell monolayers were incubated in the presence of somatostatin-14 (1 μM) in HBS for 10 min and samples analysed by enzymeimmunoassay.
