Spinal prostanoid release. (A) Substance P- and (C) capsaicin-evoked increases in perfusate prostanoid content were observed for PGE2 and 6-keto-PGF, but not TxB2. (B) NMDA increased PGE2 levels significantly, however, the numerical increase in 6-keto-PGF levels did not reach significance. Each data point represents the mean±s.e.mean of 4–8 animals. Significant increases (Student's Paired t-test) from basal eicosanoid levels indicated by *P<0.05 or **P<0.01.
