Failure of pitrazepin to antagonize the potentiating effect of flunitrazepam. (A) In an oocyte expressing α1β2γ2S GABAA receptors GABA 6 μM (left) activated inward Cl-currents of comparable amplitude elicited by GABA 10 μM in the presence of 0.1 μM pitrazepin (right). Co-application of flunitrazepam 0.3 μM in both experimental condition determined a similar potentiation of Cl-currents. (B) Potentiation of GABA-currents by flunitrazepam.
