ET-18-OCH₃ induces disruption of the mitochondrial transmembrane potential, generation of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis in human mitogen-activated T-cells, but not in resting T-lymphocytes. Purified resting T-cells (resting PBL) and mitogen-activated T-cells (activated PBL) were incubated for either 9 h (A) or 36 h (B) in the absence (control) or in the presence of 10 μM ET-18-OCH₃ as described in the Methods section.
