Potentiation of GABA currents by loreclezole and ZK 91085 is not additive at recombinant rat α1β2 GABA_A receptors. The concentration of GABA eliciting approximately 5% of the maximal current amplitude was determined first. Ten μM loreclezole strongly stimulated these GABA currents. When 10 μM ZK 91085 was coapplied with 10 μM loreclezole, no additional stimulation was observed. Bars above the current records indicate the periods of drug application. Three additional experiments carried out with oocytes of two separate batches gave comparable results.
