Acid secretion stimulated by TRH (300 ng kg−1, i.c.) in the perfused stomach of the rat was abolished by central bombesin (40 ng kg−1, i.c.). Microinjection of L-NAME (80 μg kg−1) into the DMN prevented the acid-inhibitory effects of bombesin.
