Area estimates can differ from table 2 because the TREES and GLC 2000 domains are different in Africa (Angola, Ethiopia and East Africa are not included in the TREES domain) and because semi-deciduous forests (dry dipterocarp forests) are included in the TREES study in Asia. Latin America also includes Central America in this table.
