Counts of AT → GC (WS) and GC → AT (WS) changes at intronic (Int), silent (Sil), and replacement (Rep) sites for each near-telomeric gene in four D. melanogaster subgroup species are shown. WS and SW changes from the loci located at the near-telomeric regions of increasing major codon usage (TRIMCU) are pooled. Total numbers of WS and SW changes for the near-telomeric loci outside TRIMCU regions (non-TRIMCU) are also shown. Definitions of TRIMCU regions and abbreviations for lineages are given in Table 2.
