Effects of agents on the production of TNF-α and IL-1β by PBMC stimulated with anti-CD3/CD28. PBMC were stimulated with anti-CD3/CD28 in the presence of various concentrations of FK506, CsA, DEX and MTX. Results are expressed as the percentage inhibition of cytokine production relative to drug-free control. The baseline (100% inhibition) was represented by the unstimulated culture. The data are the mean±s.e.mean of five individuals. The control levels (mean±s.e.mean) were as follows; TNF-α : 7.6±1.4 ng ml⁻¹, IL-1β :  0.23±0.05 ng ml⁻¹.
