Effect of antimalarial drugs on insulin secretion. Batches of islets were incubated for 6 days in the presence of the test solution, and the culture medium was collected every 48 h for insulin assay. The rate of insulin secretion is expressed relative to that of control islets from the same batch. Data collected over the 6 day period is pooled, and the number of insulin assays is given above each bar.
