Effect of DRG cell density on [³H]-cyclic AMP production in response to non-prostanoid receptor agonists. Cells were incubated in HBS containing IBMX (1 mM) and indomethacin (3 μM) as described in Methods. Data represent mean±s.e.mean of 4 – 5 experiments, each performed in triplicate. Iloprost (Ilo, 10 μM), isoprenaline (Iso, 1 μM), salbutamol (Sal, 1 μM) and CGRP (1 μM). Basal [³H]-cyclic AMP production ([cAMP]/[total AXP]×1000) was 1.96±0.28 and 2.58±0.24 for 500 and 15,000 cells well⁻¹, respectively. ^*P<0.05, Student's t-test.
