Demonstration of capacitative Ca²⁺ entry in cannulated and pressurized (70 mmHg) arterioles. Vessels were initially superfused with 0 mM Ca²⁺ buffer and 0.5 mM EGTA, containing either 1 μM (upper panel) or 10 μM (lower panel) nifedipine. Ca²⁺ influx was then demonstrated by addition of 2.5 mM Ca²⁺ to the superfusate. Results are shown as mean±s.e.mean; n=5.
