In the absence of extracellular Ca2+ thapsigargin induced a transient increase in Ca2+i; subsequent addition of Ca2+ to the superfusate resulted in a large increase in Ca2+i (a; n=5). (b) Illustrates that 2APB while not preventing the initial thapsigargin-induced increase in Ca2+ prevented subsequent capacitative Ca2+ entry (n=5). Washout of 2APB restored entry of Ca2+.
