Kinetics of the number of colony-forming units (CFU) in the lungs of mice infected with K. pneumoniae. Animals were inoculated with 3×106 bacteria or vehicle (30 μl and the number of CFU in lung tissue evaluated after 2.5, 24 and 48 h. At 48 h, the number of CFU was not countable (NC).
