Pretreatment with nafamostat mesilate abolishes the ioxaglate-induced decrease in arterial PaO2 in rats. Rats were injected with nafamostat mesilate (10 mg kg−1) 5 min before ioxaglate treatment. Arterial gasses were monitored by an automatic gas analyser (i-STAT) for 60 min after ioxaglate injection. Control animals were injected with saline.
