GR-mediated gene transcription in LMCAT cells treated with fluoxetine and cortisol (50 nM) or corticosterone (50 nM). LMCAT cells were treated for 24 h with cortisol (50 nM) or corticosterone (50 nM), alone or in coincubation with the antidepressant fluoxetine (10 μM). Cell extracts were analysed for relative CAT enzyme induction (fold induction relative to glucocorticoid-treated cells). The results are shown as the mean±s.e.m. of three independent experiments. *indicates significant (P<0.05) difference vs the glucocorticoid alone.
