Effect of marrubenol and verapamil on the rate of Mn²⁺-induced quenching of fura-2 fluorescence. Fura-2-loaded aortic rings were incubated with marrubenol (30 μM), verapamil (10 μM), or an equivalent amount of solvent for 30 min. They were incubated for 2 min in 100 mM KCl Ca²⁺-free solution before addition of MnCl₂ 0.1 mM (time 0). Experimental values, corrected for the autofluorescence, were normalised to the fluorescence measured before the addition of 0.1 mM MnCl₂. Data are means from three determinations. Vertical bars indicate the s.e.m. values.
