11-Keto-BAs induce the generation of ROS in PMNL. Freshly isolated PMNL (5 × 10⁶ in 1 ml PGC buffer) were preincubated with DCF-DA (1 μg ml⁻¹) for 2 min at 37°C, prior addition of the indicated stimuli. The generation of peroxides was measured as described. Data determined 5 min after addition of stimuli are expressed as the mean of the fluorescence given in arbitrary units ±s.e., n=4.
