Sodium butyrate induced protection against LPS-induced inflammatory response in butyrate pretreated (19 h) cocultures of rat cerebellar granule neurons, astrocytes and microglial cells. LPS treatment was for 24 h with concentration of 5 μg ml−1. Values are means±s.d. (n=6 in each group).
