Cell viability and proliferation rates were affected by GAG-hed. HeLa and SW480 cell viability was assessed by the MTT method. Cells were seeded on a 24-well plate. In (A), cells were treated with increasing doses of GAG-hed for 48 h. In (B), after GAG-hed treatment (5 mg/ml) cells were incubated and analyzed at 12 h intervals for 3 days. *, differences were significant when compared with equivalent untreated cells (control) in all cases (Student's t-test p < 0.001; n = 4).
