X-ray irradiation induces apoptotic cell death of retrovirus-producing cells. Irradiated (100 Gy) M3-CSM cells were cultured for 24 h, after which the cells were stained with annexin V-FITC (a), an early marker of apoptosis, and propidium iodide (b) that allowed visualization of condensed nuclear chromatin.
