Results are for CMT-3-treated mice (white bars) or vehicle-only-treated control mice (black bars) at the stated time points postinfection. Statistically greater pro-MMP-9 was detected in the tissues from control mice at days 7 (*, two-tailed P value of <0.0001) and 14 (**, P < 0.003) postinfection by an unpaired t test.
