Detection and concentration of amastin-binding antibodies in sera from patients with active VL. (A) Microtiter plates were coated with either 10 or 20 μg of L. infantum lysates or the amastin signature peptide/ml, respectively. Six sera of active VL cases were pooled, and serial dilutions were made. Anti-human peroxidase-conjugated antibody at a 1:1,000 dilution was used. The results are given as the mean optical density (O.D.) ± the SD at the indicated dilutions.
