Toxicity analysis of α₁-PDX. At 6 h after seeding, replicate wells of U-373 MG cells were incubated in the absence (squares) or presence of either 8 μM (diamonds) or 80 μM (circles) α₁-PDX or with 13% (vol/vol) PBS (buffer control, triangles). At 2, 4, and 7 days after seeding, duplicate cultures either were harvested for cell counting (filled symbols) or were incubated with [³⁵S]Met/Cys for 30 min to measure protein synthesis (trichloroacetic acid precipitable counts, open symbols).
