Effect of Fn14-Fc administration on ischemia-induced microglial activation in the ischemic penumbra. Mice were subjected to MCAO and treated with either PBS (A and B) or with the Fn14-Fc decoy receptor (C and D) and sacrificed 72 hours later. Tissue sections were prepared from the area surrounding the necrotic core in the ipsilateral hemisphere (A and C) and from a corresponding area in the healthy, nonischemic contralateral hemisphere (B and D) and stained with anti-MAC-1 antibodies.
