The major histopathological change induced by ethanol in mouse liver was microvesicular steatosis (arrows). In addition, ethanol administration caused hepatocyte enlargement with nuclear dissolution indicative of necrosis (arrowheads). Zinc pretreatment suppressed these ethanol-induced alterations.
