Effects of the vehicle DMSO (1 ml kg⁻¹ s.c. twice a day for 3 days), TDZD-8 (0.1, 0.33 and 1.0 mg kg⁻¹ s.c. twice a day for 3 days) or SB 415286 (0.1, 0.33 and 1.0 mg kg⁻¹ s.c. twice a day for 3 days) on the colonic MPO activity, expressed as mU mg⁻¹ protein (upper panel) and colonic TNF-α levels determined by ELISA and, expressed as pg mg⁻¹ protein (lower panel), in homogenates of colonic tissue collected 3 days after intracolonic challenge with TNBS.
