Early transcription in vF9Li-infected cells. BS-C-1 cells were either mock infected (M) or infected with an equal number of purified F9⁺ or F9⁻ MV particles in the presence of AraC. At 3 h after infection, total RNA was harvested and a Northern blot assay was performed using a [³²P]dCMP-labeled DNA probe for VACV early C11R and cellular glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) mRNA.
