Representative sections showing weak IL-8 immunoreactivity in and around submucosal blood vessels of the descending colon from (A) control rats and (C) TNBS-treated animals receiving thalidomide, but moderate to strong IL-8 immunoreactivity in animals receiving (D) supidimide or (B) olive oil only. Comparable results were obtained with at least five additional specimens in each group of animals.
