In each image, two of the three parameters are varied independently; all other parameters are set to values estimated from forced emigrations. Plots show mean duration and accuracy over 100 simulations at each parameter combination. Quorum is the threshold population at which the probability of switching to transport reaches 50%. Accept gives the recruitment initiation rate at good nests; the rate for mediocre nests was obtained by multiplying by the factor 0.52 (the ratio of observed values of Accept for mediocre and good nests).
