The Greek cat isolates (with the prefix GC) came from the Tessaloniki area in Greece and were collected by Aphrodite Tea. The UGA isolates came from a collection of cat blood samples from veterinary clinics in the United States; the samples were gathered by Craig Greene, University of Georgia, Athens, and were analyzed serologically by Perry Jamison.
